Video tapes and compact discs confiscated

confiscated more than 60,000 video tapes and compact discs from three stores in
The materials confiscated violated
the two regulations on printed materials and publication and copyright
Assistant Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Information for Internal Information Misfir bin Saad Al Misfir told
Saudi Press Agency these stores and their personnel would be punished according
to the law.
Based on instructions from the
Minister of Information Dr. Fouad Al Farsy, the Internal Information Department
had been intensifying its inspection campaigns on video, audio recordings and
students services stores, he said. He added these campaigns resulted in levying
510 punishment rulings against the offending stores since the beginning of this
year 1422 h.
