Saudi Petroleum Minister confers with Chinese official
Shanghai, China, 18th September
2001- Minister of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi met on Tuesday with
Chinese Minister in Charge of State Development Planning Commission, Zeng Peiyan.
They reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia and China in the fields of petroleum and mining.
In a statement to SPA, Al-Naimi said China has strong
relations with the Kingdom in several sectors, notably in the petroleum sector.
He noted that China imports increasing quantities of the Saudi
petroleum. “Moreover talks are underway to establish joint investment and
petroleum projects,” he said.
The meeting was attended by the Saudi Ambassador to China, Dr
Mohammed Al-Bishr and other senior officials.
