In line with the directives of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the
Ministry of Public Works and Housing implemented this year a number of
new projects at the Holy Places of Arafat and Mina, at a total cost of
more than SR 700 million.
These new projects aim at enabling
pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and comfort. The
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Dr. Habib
Mustafa Zein Al-Abdeen, said that the projects included the third and
final phase of the fireproof tents in Mina and other supporting
projects.
Dr Zein Al-Abdeen explained that the
third phase of the Developed Tents Project, implemented on an area of
300,000 square meters, is capable of accommodating 120,000 pilgrims.
He noted that tents have been
provided with all required facilities.
“By implementing the third phase of
the project, Mina and some parts of Muzdalifa, have become covered
with advanced tents on an area of more than 2.5 million square meters,
capable of accommodating more than 1.6 million pilgrims,” he added.
