Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA)
transported 1,285,000 passengers to and from Madinah on its local and
international flights during the year 2000. During this period,
673,000 passengers arrived at the Prince Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz
Airport in Madinah, 112,000 of whom were pilgrims, while 612,000
passengers left the airport, 40,000 of whom were pilgrims.
The Director of SAA's office in
Madinah, Muhammad Saleh, told the Saudi Press Agency that the Madinah
office has allocated five offices all around Madinah to provide
services such as ticket reservations, sales and issuing boarding
cards, in addition to 23 travel agencies to serve citizens, visitors
and pilgrims.
During the same year, SAA transported
1,750,000 KG of cargo from the Kingdom and abroad. It received 460,000
calls for ticket reservations and issued 143,000 tickets.
