Abdullah ibn Faisal ibn Turki, governor of the General Investment
Authority, will open a forum on investments in Saudi Arabia in the
Dutch city of Amsterdam next month. The forum is jointly organized by
GIA, the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Shell
oil company and IBN-AMRO Bank of the Netherlands.
The forum scheduled for April 26 will explain to the Dutch
and other European investors the recent developments the Saudi economy
has witnessed over the past few years in the light of new investment
laws. The participants will focus on the incentives awaiting foreign
investors in the country. The government measures aimed at providing
stability and security needed by foreign investors will also be
Members of the CSCCI will explain the Kingdom’s plan to
increase exports to the Netherlands and find new markets in Europe.
Emphasis will also be laid on tourism as a promising area of
investment in addition to the power sector.
The event is one in a series of investment forums organized
by GIA and CSCCI in a number of European and North American cities to
explain the new economic atmosphere in the Kingdom.
