bin Jafar Faqih, Minister of Commerce, issued yesterday a decision
which included regulations for importing meat and diary products into
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Minister gave 30 days to start implementing the regulations by
the general management of laboratories, quality inspection and all
parties concerned. The order defines the necessary requirements for
the importing of meat and dairy products to the Kingdom.
One of the regulations reads as follows: 'Ban of imported lamb,
goat, cow, and chicken meat whether it was frozen or canned or of any
other form if the country of origin was infected by any contagious
disease according to the rules of quarantine in the Kingdom of Saudi
