A leading car importer, Muhammad
Yousuf Naghi Motors, has signed an exclusive contract with the BMW
Group for importing their new MINI cars into Saudi Arabia. Some 30,000
MINI cars will roll off the new production line this year in the
heritage of the MINI brand, the engineering excellence that BMW has
put into the new car, the exclusive options and the unique driving
experience that one can only get from a MINI, we are confident that
this car will appeal to both driving enthusiasts and fashion lovers
alike,” Marius Krige, Naghi Motors’s general manager, said here
Krige said the
production of MINI, which had been designed and built to BMW
standards, began at the group’s Oxford plant in the UK last month.
The launch in the UK is scheduled for July and in other European
markets for September.
Krige said that the
Kingdom would have to wait until the first quarter of 2002 for the new
car’s arrival. Plans are under way to set up exclusive showrooms for
the MINI alongside the existing BMW showrooms. Krige expressed the
hope that MINI would become the premium brand in the small car sector
in the Kingdom.
