regular session, held here on Saturday under the Chairmanship of
Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim bin Jubair, the Shoura (Consultative
Council) approved the agreement pertaining to the establishment of a
duty-free zone between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Syria.
The Shoura also approved the project of the electric grid that
links GCC member states.
Dr Hamoud Al-Badr, the Shoura's Secretary General, said in a
statement to SPA, that the Shoura was briefed on the agreement of the
duty-free zone between the Kingdom and Syria, signed in Damascus on
26.11.1421AH, by Dr Mohammed Al-Kuneibit, the Head of the Shoura’s
Economic Affairs Committee.
The Shoura also reviewed the report submitted by the Shoura’s
Services and Public Utilities Committee on the project of the electric
grid that links the GCC member states. After deliberation, the Shoura
approved the draft of the project.
