The Saudi Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), one of the
companies involved in the economic offset program, has signed with the
Swedish Eriksson Saab Company a contract for manufacturing a high-tech
radar observation system, as well as extending services of technical
support, inspection and repair.
AEC's president Eng. Abdul Aziz Al-Saghir said the agreement
bears witness to AEC's advanced technical capabilities in the field of
manufacturing systems and various electronic devices. 'Moreover, the
agreement provides clear evidence of the high quality of the workers
at AEC', he said, noting that the Saudis constitute more than 74
percent of the total workers of the company.
Al-Saghir pointed out that this development will enhance
AEC's capability in repair and support services as well as development
and amendment of the system in the future.
For his part, president of Eriksson Saab, Fedexon, expressed
happiness at singing the agreement with AEC and said this development
would positively contribute to the transfer of advanced technology to
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.
