At 8:30 am on Wednesday, 2 May 2001, a
physiotherapist of American nationality, was injured in his office at
Saad Medical Hospital here, due to a blast, said the Director of
Police in the Eastern region, in a statement to the Saudi Press
The physiotherapist received injuries to his face, hands and left
knee in the blast, which occurred in an envelope that he had thought
contained a videotape, the statement said.
The injured physiotherapist was rushed for medical treatment, while
the security authorities have started conducting investigations into
the incident, it added.
Hatch, 40, who has been working in
the Kingdom for the last six years, has been admitted to the Aramco
Hospital in Dhahran. Doctors described his condition as serious, but
