Saudi flight makes
emergency landing in Cairo
Cairo, Nov 7, SPA --
A Saudi airliner coming from Casablanca made an emergency landing
at Cairo International Airport today to assist a sick crew member.
The Middle East News Agency (MENA), which carried the report,
said the captain of Saudia Flight No. 272 was taken by surprise while flying
through Egyptian airspace on his way to Jeddah when he was notified by his crew
that his flight's catering supervisor was suffering from severe pains, making it
impossible for him to proceed to his destination.
The flight was immediately allowed emergency landing in Cairo
where the crew member was rushed to hospital with a suspected heart attack and
respiratory system problems.
Later, the flight resumed its journey.--SPA
