Acer Showcases Advanced Technology

at Comdex Saudi Arabia 2001

 World’s Third Largest PC Manufacturer Sponsors Exhibition, Unveils New Computing Technology

 Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. will showcase its latest high-end, business-use products at Comdex Saudi Arabia - the Kingdom’s only business-to-business computer, Internet, and networking exhibition - to be held in Jeddah from the 16^th to the 19^th of April.

 Acer will be displaying corporate solutions which reflect its newly launched identity, featuring a new Acer that is more customer-centric, and hi-touch organization. Moreover, Acer will be the hardware sponsor of the show for this year’s show.

 “Our participation in Comdex Saudi Arabia 2001 will focus on underlining Acer's dominant presence in the enterprise corporate market in the Saudi Kingdom,” said Mr. Basem Ewiwi, country sales manager, Acer Computer (ME) Ltd. “Our latest server units, desktops, and notebooks are specifically designed to provide the corporate sector in the Saudi market with reliable, effective, and affordable processing power,” Mr. Ewiwi added.

 Acer will be sponsoring registration desks at Comdex Saudi Arabia 2001. The registration desks will be provided with a huge number of Acer’s flagship, high-performance Aspire PCs.

 To further encourage the spread of IT in the Saudi market, Acer will provide visitors to the show registering at the Microsoft stand with the opportunity to win an advanced Acer Aspire PC via a daily draw.

 Acer will show the latest Altos server units for medium-sized and large enterprises. The Altos 1200 is a mid-range unit designed for medium-sized businesses which need high-performance server advantages with an affordable price. The Altos 22000 unit is a new-generation server with huge computing power for use in large-scale applications such as e-commerce, thin-client computing, database processes, customer relationship management, and enterprise resource planning.

 For a reliable and affordable server solution, Acer will present the Altos 350, a high performance unit with user-friendly software utilities. For businesses experiencing continuous growth rates in their working environments, Acer presents the Altos 600 server solution. Featured with a dual Intel Pentium III processing power, the Altos 600 is well equipped to manage everyday business needs and retain a high level of performance to cope with a rapidly changing work environment.

 Acer will turn Comdex Saudi Arabia 2001 visitors’ heads by demonstrating the newly launched biotechnology-based notebook – the  TravelMate 739TLV. With superior multimedia capabilities and comprehensive communications coverage, including an optional wireless networking card, the new TM 739TLV ensures that users are able to meet their diverse challenges. Furthermore, the unique integrated fingerprint security feature combines an unprecedented level of data protection with the convenience of one-touch system access.

 The newly designed high-performance corporate Flat Panel PC - the Veriton FP2 -  will be also present at the show. The Acer Veriton FP2, a sophisticated and reliable high-performance computing device, is a uniquely styled unit specifically designed for managerial level professionals working in modern business environments.

 Acer’s advanced computing technology will be available in the show via its long-term partners participating in the show at their stands, and these include Al-Alamiah Internet, Hoshanko, Al-Alamiah Electronics from Saudi Arabia, and Tayeb Bank from Bahrain.
