Seminar Program Helps Regional Partners
Deal with the Growing Challenges of Information Management
|
Dubai, United Arab Emirates- Sun
Microsystems Middle East & North Africa today announced a new initiative to help
companies in the region understand critical issues surrounding data storage and
information management.
Working with its channel development partner, Tech Access, the technology leader
is conducting a solutions seminar for its partners in the region that will bring
the latest thinking around storage issues to the Middle East. The event is being
held today at the Tech Access Solutions Center.
Companies in the region face a number of storage and information management
challenges, ranging from effective organization of the thousands of e-mails they
receive every day, to devising bulletproof back-up procedures that ensure they
can recover critical information in the event of a crisis. However, industry
analysts agree that the lack of consensus around best practice approaches to
storage is holding companies back from developing fully-effective strategies.
At the Tech Access Solutions Center - the Sun Authorized iForce(sm) Ready Centre
- customers can test out complex Sun storage solutions, evaluate how they would
deploy storage area networks, back-up strategies and disaster recovery
solutions, using high end Sun storage arrays and Sun StorEDGE software.
“Test before you invest” is a simple concept, but a powerful one. The Tech
Access Sun Authorized iForce Centre is an ideal environment for IT managers to
meet with experienced Sun certified engineers and see how Sun technology can
benefit them, helping to speed up implementation cycles and take the risk out of
complex purchasing decisions by proving their particular custom solution on the
latest Sun technology.
Sun’s seminar will attempt to address the knowledge gap that exists around
storage solutions. Moderated by a leading expert in the field, it will focus
upon the practical problems that companies in the region face, and provide
update information on some of the new Sun products that will be available in
2003, including the company’s ground-breaking Enterprise Storage Manager. In
addition, there will be an opportunity for partners to gain valuable experience
with Sun storage solutions through intensive training sessions.
“At Sun, we want to use events like this to bring innovative ideas around data
sharing and archiving to the Middle East, so that companies here can continue to
hone their competitive edge and generate value for end-users,” said Peter Tandy,
EMEA sales manager, Sun Microsystems, who is speaking at the event. “Our
regional partners are critically important to our long-term business
development, and the seminar will help them understand the way forward in the
storage market.”
Over the past year, Sun Microsystems’ has emerged as one of the fastest-growing
companies in the Middle East storage industry, supplying solutions to a number
of companies in vertical industries such as aviation, government and energy
sectors. This seminar will reinforce its position as an innovator and
thought-leader in the region.
“For many technology professionals, one of the real challenges of information
management and data storage is staying up-to-date with the latest developments
and helping colleagues understand the strategic framework for their storage
approach,” said Jawad Ahmed, marketing manager, Tech Access. “This seminar,
which brings the most up-to-date ideas from one of the IT industry’s foremost
innovators to the region, will help people to make sense of storage.”
