The
13th Gulf Education and Training Exhibition, to be held
between April 24th and 27th at the Dubai World
Trade Center, will be accompanied by a series of seminars and talks
organized by various exhibitors to promote their activities.
The
seminars, which form an integral part of some exhibitors’
participation, will span over the four days of the exhibition and
attendance will be free of charge for all visitors of the show.
“The
seminars provide a priceless forum for the students and institutions to
have a face-to-face interactions and to clear any doubts or queries
about higher education. This gives the students and parents an
impression on what the institute is like and what to expect when
enrolling,” said David Domoney, Managing Director of the International
Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E) organizers of the show.
He
added that many children of the expatriate and local community prefer to
continue their higher education abroad, which makes these interactive
exhibitions important.
A
unique school for girls, Stonar School will be presenting a seminar on
the fourth and last day of the event. Stonar School for girls is based
in the UK and has an international reputation for their special interest
in horse riding. The school
has a unique equestrian center with the facilities including stabling
for over 50 horses, a large indoor school, an outdoor ménage and a
two-mile cross-country course built to international novice standards.
On
the first day of the exhibition, the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA) will give a seminar on ‘Expanding Horizons; Careers
in Accountancy’. ACCA is the largest global professional accountancy
body with 250,000 members and students in 160 countries. Headquartered
in London, ACCA has staffed offices in more than 25 countries around the
world.
The
United Nations has recognized ACCA syllabus as providing the basis for a
global accountancy qualification, which gives a unique opportunity for
their members to enjoy professional mobility worldwide. In the seminar,
the ACCA will be discussing with students the various qualifications,
which they offer for both accountants and non-accountants at all levels.
On the third day of the show, the University
of London will speak to students and parents on the opportunity of
‘Studying for a degree from a distance’. Skyline College in Sharjah
will concentrate on the various scholastic alternatives they have
including degrees and affiliations with universities such as the
National American University.
Another
UK school, Bedford School, will be presenting a seminar on ‘Choosing a
UK Boarding School’ on the last day of the show. Bedford, situated in
Southeast England, is a boarding school for boys established in 1552.
Other
seminars scheduled including the Merit International Hotel Management
and Engineering, the Canadian Education Network providing an overview on
Canadian Education and the Ajman
University of Science and Technology.

the Exhibition:
The
Exhibition will be opened daily from 1000 - 1300h and 1700 - 2100h at
Halls 5a & 5 at the Dubai World Trade Center and admission is
free.
