Revolutionary
External Drive Brings Easy-to-add and Secured Storage Benefits to PC and
Macintosh Users in the Middle East
Dubai, United Arab
Emirates
To provide PC and Mac
users in the Middle East with a reliable, secure, and real-time transfer of
digital video and audio data to personal computers and laptops, Western Digital
– a world leader in personal computing storage – today announced the availability
of its new 60 GB FireWire external hard disk drive.
The automatically configured
FireWire external hard drive offers personal computing storage with fast,
plug-and-play, hot-swap connectivity to high-speed devices such as,
digital cameras, digital video camcorders, and scanners.
“With the availability
of data-rich applications on the Internet and the increased use of digital
cameras and camcorders, demand on large storage capacity will dramatically
increase,” said Rauf Baig, Western Digital sales
manager in the Middle East.
“The number of digital
photography users in the Middle East is increasing rapidly. Accordingly, Western Digital has
developed the FireWire external drive to provide users with additional and
easy-to-use storage for their need to store huge amounts of data, such as
movies, live news broadcasts, HTML web pages, and large-size digital photos,”
added Baig.
The new external drive includes
full-featured digital video editing software and provides a complete solution
for Internet downloads, music files, video files, and data files.
The FireWire external
drive is compatible with Macintosh and Windows-based personal computers via a
built-in port or a FireWire adapter. The external drive can be used under
Windows 98 SE or Mac OS 8.6, or higher operating systems.
