Prince Abdul Majeed to open the First Jeddah
International Islamic Trade Fair
Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed
is to open the First Jeddah International Islamic Trade Fair on June 9. The
event will be held under the patronage of Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier
and commander of the National Guard. HE Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Ali, the president
of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), made the announcement at a press
conference today at the IDB’s headquarters in Jeddah.
The fair, at which 40 countries of
the Organisation of the Islamic Conference will exhibit, will run until June 14
at the Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Promising unrivalled access for
businessmen to established and flourishing Muslim economies and to some of the
most exciting investment opportunities available in the developing world today,
the fair, sponsored jointly by the IDB and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (JCCI) offers the chance to quickly and effectively raise the level of
trade between Muslim countries, said Majed Al-Kasabi, the JCCI’s
secretary-general. “Each country’s national stand will showcase a range of
items, from traditional products, reflecting a country’s heritage and culture,
through to highly sophisticated state-of-the-art technology,” he said.
