ARABIAN GULF –
Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a global leader in corporate networking solutions and
services, hosted an Avaya Voice and Data Convergence Road show at the
Metropolitan Palace Hotel, in Deira, Dubai recently. Senior Avaya executives discussed how the communications
revolution is transforming the way businesses communicate, compete and succeed
in the e-Business age. The event
demonstrated how companies in the United Arab Emirates can benefit from
implementing converged communication solutions, which integrate voice, video
and data traffic onto a single communications line.
The Dubai stop was part
of a wider initiative covering a number of Middle Eastern and North African
countries. "Participants were
given the opportunity to learn about Avaya's comprehensive communications
solutions created by our research and development engine, Avaya Labs. These have been designed to
help companies succeed in a customer-driven economy and the current e-Business
climate," said Walter Koenig, regional managing director, Middle East,
North Africa and South Eastern Europe, Avaya.
During a draw at the
road show, Seven Seas Computers' Regional Manager for Sharjah and Northern
Emirates, Hasan Zaheer, won an Avaya Wireless Residential Gateway (RG I), which is part of Avaya's Small Office &
Home (SOHO) solution. The RG I enables small office users and family
members to share network services such
as Internet access from anywhere in the home or small office
environment.
The RG I acts as a
central base station for multiple wireless users using the Avaya Wireless PC
Card or USB Client. Remote Network Access can be provided via the built-in 56K
modem or by the Ethernet port which connects to broadband cable, xDSL or ISDN
services.
